Several Police units responded to Crossway in the village at 01:30 on Saturday as part of an ongoing investigation. Officers forced entry to a property, it is claimed.
A police presence was maintained at an address on the quiet residential road throughout the whole of Saturday, with the Crime Scene Investigation Unit arriving at the scene at lunchtime today (Saturday).
It has now been confirmed that 55-year-old Dean Dalley has been charged with assault by beating and has been remanded in custody to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates Court tomorrow (Monday).

Unfortunately plenty of drugs, drink and scumbags in this building, which used to be ok.

Couldn’t agree more, Southern Housing Group need to be held accountable for the tenants they have placed in these flats in amongst vulnerable and elderly people. Complaints are made and nothing it seems is being done to help the other residents. Drug needles littered outside the flats, antisocial behaviour at all hours of day and night and it only seems to be getting worse. Most people in Bembridge don’t realize that this hidden away block of flats is the cause of a high percentage of anti social behaviour and low level crime in the area.
Why would Southern Housing be accountable for what tenants do? They’re not the Police.
Unfortunatly Bembridge has to share the burden of housing these scumbags.

Both the park and the cemetery have drugs being passed from one skank to another frequently and almost certainly it isn’t the second home owners doing so
No their houses just remain empty for most of year depriving local people the chance to buy a house in an area they have lived in all their life.
Linda, most of the local wealthy peoples children can afford to buy in the village, but you cannot expect those less educated or poorer local people’s children all to be able to afford to buy.
The very fact that house prices are high, ensures the village is kept mostly free of poor troublesome people, who as in other areas bring their anti-social behaviour and crime to everywhere they live en-masse.
Hence why as seen on the Echo, the drugs, drinking, and problems in Bembridge are in areas where poor people have been deliberately subsidised to pretend they ‘fit in’, in affordable homes, or, social housing areas.
Top Hotels have no trouble from guests, whereas the cheaper places do.
The Lincoln way pond would be filled with old mattresses and beer cans if the area was social housing. It is what they live like, they are different. Of course not all, but far too many are.
