Police deployed sniffer dogs at a residential property in Newport yesterday afternoon (Monday) where a group of men and women were arrested on suspicion of drug dealing.
Multiple vehicles descended on a residential property on West View, just off Trafalgar Road, at around 13:00.
A 43-year-old woman, a 22-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, all from Newport, were arrested at the scene alongside a 43-year-old man from Winchester.
The group were all detained on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled class B drug.
Officers spent around 4 hours at the scene heading in and out of the property with evidence bags.
It has now been confirmed that the 43-year-old man was released without charge and issued with a community resolution.
The remaining 3 people have all been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

We made a decision to leave the island over 18 months ago and we have not looked back sadly there are many vicious and deceitful people on the island and from an outside point of view the amount of crime is just shocking

Yes, the Island is changing, sadly for the worse, but the fact is that it’s still a far safer place to live than many other places in the UK.

It’s a shame people like this can’t be moved off the island. That would be their punishment.
Can the courts not give them a banning order to make them keep away from the island say for 10 years.
The people arrested here all work so maybe take your shallow presumptions else where, maybe go and unfustrate yourself

Half the island smoke weed, it’s harmless ! Yes it smells but no where near as bad as alcohol. Weed is a chilled drug, never known a weed head to cause trouble/fight/steal . Bout time the police targeted the big crime, the knifes, adults , kiddy fiddlers , they get a slap on the wrist. I’m s non smoker but think it should just be legalised
