Firefighters from Newport and Ryde have tackled a field fire on the Barton Manor estate in Whippingham this afternoon (Monday).
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called to Mount Road at 14:38.
A 30x30m area of the field was involved in the blaze with crews using hose reels to dampen down and extinguish the fire.
Due to the remote location, a water carrier from Freshwater was called to the scene but was stood down before it arrived.
Fire crews stood down from the incident following the stop message at 15:07.
Schools out, expect a month and a half of this, unless it hopefully rains every day.
