The Wightlink-Wight Mountain Cycle Race Team held the last of its hill climbs for the season on Sunday 13th October.
On a cold but sunny morning, over 30 riders took on the last event of the season, the Blackgang Climbs, and pushed themselves to the limit not only to be in with a chance to take home one of the awards and prizes up for grabs but also to set a personal best.
Kev Chant was on top form, taking the overall win in a combined time of 6 minutes 58 seconds proving that he can take on the hills, as well as dominating the TTs.
Ewan Cook pulled out 2 impressive climbs to take both the junior title and 2nd overall with teammate Nick Earley powering home to take 3rd spot making it a hat trick for the Wightlink-Wight Mountain lads.
Charis Jones (Wightlink-Wight Mountain CRT) took the women’s title for the second year running, whilst teammate Nadia Lele pulled out a terrific performance on her mountain bike to take 2nd place. Wight Tri member Arielle Elton-Walters stepped up on the podium in 3rd place.
