3 people received medical treatment for cuts to their hands and arms following an incident in Wootton yesterday afternoon (Friday), which has led to the arrest of 2 people.
Police were called at around 15:30 to reports of an incident at an address in Mill Square involving a group of people known to each other.
A large number of officers descended on Wootton Bridge – near The Sloop – and located 3 people with injuries to their hands and arms, suspected to have been caused by broken glass.
A 38-year-old man was located on the High Street near Tesco and was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. A 48-year-old woman was also arrested, at Mill Square, on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
The duo were taken to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment before being transferred to Newport’s custody suite, where they remain at this time.
An ambulance was called out to treat a 3rd person – an injured female.
Enquiries remain ongoing to establish the exact circumstances.

She felt discomfort too apparently 🙂
Scum. Pure and simple. Should be locked up and only fed bread and water for 2 years
Would love to see them try that in downtown Compton
Drink and drugs I bet!
Good old afternoon drinking.
Lads, you can’t park like that!
Of course you can park there, Constable.
