2 teenagers cut off by the tide at Luccombe have been rescued by Sandown & Shanklin Independent Lifeboat this evening (Thursday).
The boy and girl found themselves stuck against the cliff face between Shanklin and Ventnor shortly before 18:00.
The young duo raised the alarm with Solent Coastguard, who scrambled Coastguard Rescue 175 Helicopter to the scene alongside Sandown Lifeboat and Coastguard Rescue Teams from Bembridge and Ventnor.
Uninjured and pleased to see a rescue team, the teens where transferred into the lifeboat.
The volunteer lifeboat crew of Sandown & Shanklin Independent Lifeboat have landed the casualties at Shanklin Esplanade, where Coastguard Rescue Officers have rendezvoused with the pair.
The incident has now been brought to a close.
If you or someone else is in difficulty on the coast or at sea, or if you spot what you think may be unexploded ordnance, then dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard. Further safety information can be found at https://coastguardsafety.campaign.gov.uk/.
