2 men in their 20s have been arrested on suspicion of drug dealing and going equipped after Police located a vehicle that failed to stop for officers in Cowes this afternoon (Wednesday).
At just before 14:30, a vehicle failed to stop when directed on Newport Road. A short time later the same car was successfully located on nearby Cranleigh Gardens.
2 male occupants – both aged in their 20s – were subsequently arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs and going equipped for burglary.
Island Echo is told that tasers were drawn by responding officers, who were supported by a local dog unit.
The 2 men remain in custody at this time.

Great work, officers. Let’s hope that your hard work isn’t spoiled by over-lenient sentences in court.
We watched the morons going down Wyatt’s lane at around 70mph..!!!
Wow that was interesting
More IOW undesirables will be along soon.
No doubt they will spin a hard luck story in court & get away with it,as many do,it makes the legal system look like a joke!!
Great to see proper policing is still happening on the iow. Whilst other forces are dancing in PR events ours are still keeping us safe.
20 years of age and breaking the law already. Obviously have not been taught right from wrong by responsible parents! Going equipped to break into someone’s home. This is the type of crime that is happening on this beautiful island now. Judges need to come down hard on these lawbreakers and teach them a lesson. But I very much doubt they will.
These men are still young, they must choose to give up crime if they are guilty, and need to realise if they do not then their whole lives are written off, and their family suffers as well. To many wannabee gangsters now, they need a sharp shock before it is too late and we descend into chaos. The Home Secretary appears to be sleeping on the job, give courts more power and build more prisons if necessary.
You do know going equipped can mean a screwdriver in the boot or even a pair of gloves on the back seat. Why is everyone so quick to judge in expecting the worst. Most the time these lenient sentences are given as a lot of the charges are dropped from being nonsense, let’s see if they are found guilty before passing judgment.
best place for a holiday if your after drugs
The problem does begin with the parents as Sunshine states. I know of blokes in their 20s, 40s & 50s that were at a young age all spoiled brats. Two got far more than other kids could only ever dream of, just because their parents were successful & could afford the best. The other, an only child played up Sweet Mary Hell until his parents gave in. All have committed drug, driving & stealing offences & were bailed out by their parents. The chap in his 40s did change his ways in his late 20s. The others are still a pain in the backside & continue to have parent protection!!
What a world we live in where anonymous people can judge from behind their screens. Imagine if people would wait to see if they are guilty before passing judgment and wishing peoples life wasted in prison. Like you all say “give longer sentences”, I mean it works in America and is clearly lowering the crime rate in England, or we could go by the statistics and look at low level crime countries where they actually spend the money on reforming criminals and then they become a contributing factor to society..apparently it cost UK 70k a year for each prisoner, just to have them with records that will never be erased and then commit more crime..
That’s why they should never have abolished the death penalty. Many of the scum kept in prison could have been got rid of altogether.
Death penalty for suspected drug dealing? Just like the 3 strike rule,, 3 strikes then life, next thing you have people on their second strike with nothing to lose, end up killing whiteness just to avoid the charges. It’s not rocket science, look at the facts and the data,,when prisoners are reformed and not just labelled it works better for society.. I’m not talking about killers and rapists etc but low lvl crime. The world is a different place now and we need to adjust to make it work..
Lol I got disliked for saying we should be fair,, you lot would of thrown a woman in water to see if she was a witch, if she came up she was so would of been burned alive, if she drowned she was innocent.. think about what you are saying. To take a life is a big decision not just one you can make while ranting.
smoke weed every day!
Wonder if they are Islanders, or day trippers. Be interesting to have a follow-up on this news.
What is an “Islander”? Just because you may have been born here doesn’t make you any different to anyone else, there are plenty of local trouble makers.
Stupid comment
Why is it when anyone does something wrong, someone always stands up for them on here. You can’t keep making excuses
Perhaps because until proven guilty they should be treated as innocent, suspicion is not definitive!!
