Emergency services are in attendance at a 2-car road traffic collision at Falcon Cross in Shanklin this evening (Thursday).
Police, fire and ambulance crews were mobilised to the scene at the junction of Regent Street and Falcon Road at just before 18:00 following reports that 2 vehicles had come into contact.
It was initially feared that the occupants of the vehicle were trapped, prompting the turn out of a fire engine from Shanklin and Southsea’s engine from Ryde. However, it was quickly established that no one was trapped and therefore Southsea, who were standing by at Ryde as a result of the large barn blaze, were stood down.
Island Echo is told that one vehicle collided into the rear of another, spinning it around and onto the pavement outside Ladies Realm. The car had 2 elderly occupants as well as a third adult and 2 children. The other vehicle involved was being driven by a woman on her own.
Emergency teams remain on scene and recovery of the vehicles – both Island reg – has been arranged.

I’snt the Give Way lines an indication that its a juction anyway its states that the vehicle went into the back of the other which is careless driving all day long plus its a junction anyway which means stop and check the way is clear no different to any other junction.
