2 people have been arrested following the execution of drugs warrants by officers in Ryde on Saturday (11th September).
Officers conducted the raids at an address in Mary Bell Court, Simeon Street, and at an address on Weeks Road.
Cash was seized by the investigating officers alongside items believed to be amphetamine and cannabis.
As part of the enquiries, a 44-year-old man and a 26-year-old man, both from Ryde, were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs and acquiring criminal property.
They were released under investigation while police enquiries continue.
There seem to have been a few drugs raids in Ryde in recent months. Good for Ryde but, why not in Freshwater, where drug running takes place every evening by youths on noisy motorbikes ?
My neighbours and I have repeatedly reported this, but nothing is ever done..
We gave up on the Police some time ago – they are clearly not interested in us. We have been left unprotected and with no policing here, challenging them has led to some unpleasant experiences.
Policing here, if there is any, has been a total let down.
Use some face paint, and then say they shouted a racist insult at you. The Police will be there in minutes.
Actually you’re very wrong there. Exactly what occurred the other night and a group of ignorant, racist yobs are still terrorising young innocent decent people on our Ryde streets as we speak! There needs to be more police involvement round the boating lake and sea front as it’s a tragedy waiting to happen. They know these ugly vermin but do nothing to stop them.
What has has happened to this island?
It’s reversed backwards these past months with no respect for human beings and common decency. Do you know where your kids are at night and what they’re doing to young women and innocent kids trying to enjoy their summer evening with friends? Ask yourself, where they are and why they are so vile and think that it’s ok to do it!

It’s a farce. It’s got really violent and yobbish lately and nothing cx being done about it. More avid blatant racism going on and people getting hurt. It’s not the place I was born into any more. It’s more like the scummy mainland areas a lot of them have come from where it’s the norm. Sad
