A young male is being sought by Police after a man in his 70s sustained head and facial injuries during an assault in the Haylands area of Ryde on Wednesday afternoon.
Police and paramedics were called to Salters Park, at the bottom of Salters Road, following the incident at around 17:00 on 12th March.
It’s said that a verbal altercation led to the elderly male being assaulted.
The victim was subsequently taken to St Mary’s Hospital, Newport for treatment.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary says that enquiries remain ongoing.

UPDATE TUESDAY – A 17-year-old boy has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
