A WWII bomb shell has been found dumped in a ditch in the East Wight overnight.
The unexploded shell was found by a dog walker last night (Friday) just metres from the road.
It is believed that the shell was dug up somewhere else and transported to its current location in Nunwell where it’s been placed in a white plastic bag.
Police were alerted, and have been guarding the shell overnight whilst they await bomb disposal from the mainland.

A job for dad’s army!
It probably was dad’s army that left it there…
I suppose it makes a change for leaving a full dog poo bag laying around.
how’s it going to biodegrade in a plastic bag?
