A 36-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent following a serious assault in Shanklin last night (Thursday).
Police were called at 20:50 to reports of a group of people shouting and acting aggressively on Green Lane, near to The Rogers.
A short while later further reports were received that a man had been assaulted.
It has been confirmed that a man in his 30s was located at the scene with facial injuries. He was taken to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment, with his injuries decribed as serious but not life-threatening.
A cordon was erected around the crime scene last night as investigations into the assault were launched.
Within the cordon a metal pole, a rucksack and a cap could be seen. However, Police say it has not yet been confirmed if the metal pole – or any weapon – was involved.
Enquiries remain ongoing at this time to determine the circumstances and the nature of the assault.

Sure as council tax payers we will help give child and adult family support as this poor woman and child who has no doubt some sort of condition or atleast been given one adh gbh or abc. As i’m sure its societys fault its good to know our hard earnt money funding the right things.
