West Wight Sports and Community Centre is once again in the running for a £5,000 Movement for Good grant – and they’re calling on the Isle of Wight community to help bring the funding home.
The Centre, based in Freshwater, is urging residents to vote online between 16th-22nd June as part of the latest grant round by the Benefact Group.
The funding is specifically aimed at charities supporting children and young people – a mission central to the work of West Wight Sports and Community Centre.
From baby and toddler groups to dance classes, school swimming and holiday programmes, the Centre provides a safe and welcoming space for young people to grow, learn and thrive.
Clare Griffin, Centre Manager, has said:
“We’re so proud to offer so many opportunities for our community to stay active, healthy and connected – especially our children and young people.
“A vote takes just seconds, but it could make a huge difference. We’d love your support, and if you’re able to help us spread the word during the week of the vote, that would really help. Please get in touch if you can support us with this – we’d love to hear from you too!”
In the previous round, the Centre rallied significant public support but missed out on the top prize. Now, they’re hoping even more Islanders – and their friends and families across the UK – will get behind the cause.
To vote, visit www.movementforgood.com and search for ‘West Wight Sports and Community Centre’. Votes must be cast between 16th-22nd June.
Every vote counts, and the Centre says winning the £5,000 grant would allow them to expand their vital work with local children and young people.
