Southern Water is working to repair 2 burst water mains in Cowes this morning (Wednesday), which is causing a lack of pressure and discolouration to supplies in the area.
At just before 03:55, the utility company was made aware of a burst at Medham Village in Northwood. Engineers are currently on site working to restore supplies to affected customers, but there are warnings it could be several hours until things are back to normal.
Just 2-and-a-half hours after the initial burst, a second burst occurred on the other side of Cowes in the area of Baring Road.
The road has now been closed to allow for emergency repairs to be facilitated. Baring Road is closed from Egypt Hill to Castle Hill, just east of Ward Avenue.
Hundreds of homes and businesses on both sides of the River Medina are being affected by the double burst.
