The Ventnor community came together in festive spirit for a Christmas Market on Saturday (13th December), raising over £2,000 for St Catherine’s School, which supports young people with speech, language and communication needs.
A total of 25 traders set up stalls offering Christmas gifts, while a raffle brought joy to 20 lucky winners.
Families and visitors were treated to appearances from Spiderman and Elsa, and the event’s popular Gift Elves handed out 200 free presents to children.
Live music organised by Greg Barnes played throughout the day, adding to the festive atmosphere and helping to draw in crowds from across the Isle of Wight.
Event organiser Tanya Smith, Fundraising and Marketing Assistant at St Catherine’s, has said:
“A huge thank you to everyone who supported the event, donated, volunteered, and helped make the day so special.
“The support from the Ventnor community has been incredible, and we can’t wait to be back next year, on 12th December 2026.”
The total raised will go towards supporting the work of St Catherine’s in providing specialist education and care to young people with complex communication needs.
