Ventnor Bowling Club is to host a free-to-attend Open Day this Bank Holiday Monday for players of all ages to come along and try their hand at a new sport.
The oldest Bowling Club on the Island, Ventnor Bowling Club is situated just above the town of Ventnor, approximately 330 feet above sea level, and about half a mile from the sea front.
Loretta Dyer, the Assistant Secretary of Ventnor Bowling Club said:
“Bowls is sociable, doable and easily accessible. Players come in all ages, from different backgrounds and all shapes and sizes. Everybody can play and it’s simple to pick up. You can play casually with friends and family, or more competitively if that’s what you’re looking for.”
“Our sport enjoyed a tremendous year in 2022 with a record medal haul at the Commonwealth Games and we are working hard to build a legacy across our fantastic, community clubs. So please do give it a go, you’ll wish you’d started sooner!”
There is no charge, free refreshments and some prizes to be had so come along between 11:00 and 16:00 this Bank Holiday Monday (29th May) at Mitchell Avenue, Ventnor.
