Vectis RFC is ending 2025 on a high with academy recognition, county honours, and a memorable trip to the home of English rugby – rounding off a week of achievement and pride for the Isle of Wight-based club.
The club has announced that U15s player Josh has been accepted onto the Bath Rugby Academy U15 Foundation Programme. The selection marks a significant milestone in his development and is being celebrated as a reflection of his hard work, commitment and dedication.

Meanwhile, Billy G once again earned county honours after being named in the Hampshire RFU U18 starting XV. Billy travelled to Dartford Valley RFC on Sunday 14th December to take on Kent Rugby in a challenging fixture. Hampshire came away with the win, and Vectis RFC praised Billy’s continued performance at county level.
Adding to a packed week of rugby experiences, club members visited Twickenham Stadium to attend Big Game 17 – a festive double-header featuring both the Harlequins and Bristol Bears men’s and women’s teams. The trip proved inspirational for young players, who were treated to a top-level display of the sport.
The journey home included an unexpected local highlight when the group spotted club sponsor Wightlink featuring Vectis RFC branding on onboard screens.
