Retained firefighters in East Cowes were called to man the town’s pump early this morning (Friday) when an alarm was activated at a nearby industrial site.
1 appliance was mobilised to the scene – thought to be GKN Aerospace – by fire control at 04:45.
The crew soon discovered that there was no fire present at the industrial site. The alarms had been activated by someone vaping.
