The volunteer crew of Freshwater Independent Lifeboat launched just before the sun rose this morning (Monday) following reports of an unlit object in the water.
Solent Coastguard requested the launch of the inshore lifeboat at 03:31 after receiving reports from a passing yacht of something in the water that was causing concern.
It didn’t take long for the lifeboat crew to locate the object, which was confirmed as being a pot marker.
