A favourite pub of Lord Alan Sugar’s, The Propeller Inn at Bembridge, is to close by the end of the year – another in a growing list of Island closures this week.
Residents and visitors alike have been left saddened by the news, which has come unexpectedly for the pub’s manager, Helen Blake, who tells Island Echo she does not know what is next for the location.
It has been revealed that the lease on the property is not being renewed after 8 years, but the reason is currently unknown.
Lord Sugar of BBC’s The Apprentice has flown into Bembridge Airport on several occasions over the years, each time stopping for a spot of lunch at the pub.
Seaview Wildlife Encounter on the outskirts of Ryde and Fort Victoria Aquarium in Yarmouth have both closed this week, alongside a £330,000 funding cut to Visit Isle of Wight.
