VIDEO: Hovertravel’s existing craft ‘Freedom 90’ was used as part of Griffon Hoverwork’s trials programme to support the testing of the propellers on the first of Hovertravel’s new hovercraft yesterday (Thursday).
The trials, which took place yesterday afternoon, will provide valuable test data to enable the currently unnamed craft to successfully receive the required certification before entry into service later this year.
The exposed sand banks just off Ryde is an ideal location to put the new craft through its paces and who better to help out than the current craft, with almost three decades of operational experience on the stretch of water.
