Police and paramedics are in attendance at a road traffic collision on The Downs near Downend this morning (Monday).
The incident has involved 2 vehicles at the top of Newport Shute.
Both cars involved in the rear-end smash have been moved off the main road, but traffic is still under the direction of Police as emergency vehicles are blocking 1 side of the carriageway.
The crash occurred just before 10:25.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service is checking over those involved in the incident, but no serious injuries are thought to have been sustained.
Motorists should be aware of minor traffic delays heading to and from Downend.

Too many bad drivers on this Island, not paying attention to the road and other users.. obviously… hope they did a sight test,,, and checked when their mobile was last used. Sounds like Undue Care and Attention to me.
Sounds more like typical bad driving that’s getting more and more commonplace here on.the Isle of Wight. It will get worse before it gets better I’m afraid.
What makes you think its going to get “better”?
There needs to be more signage at this dangerous junction,
why wont the council sort these dangeroius junctions out it would,nt take much but oh no people have to get injured or die
