A car has crashed into a set of railings in Lake this morning (Monday), leading to extra delays in the area.
The blue Renault Clio has collided head-on with the street furniture at the side of the carriageway on Sandown road (Lake High Street), close to the former Co-Operative store.
1 fire appliance from Shanklin is in attendance at the scene in the interests of safety. The fire service was called out at around 10:15.
Traffic is heavy in the area with delays already being felt due to the 4-way temporary traffic lights at the top of Lake Hill.
No one is thought to have been seriously injured but paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are in attendance.

More bad driving on the I o w
Awfully terrible driving phill
Yet another single vehicle accident, One can never comment on a specific accident in case someone has the misfortune of a medical episode or some other really unfortunate situation but ‘in general’, as there are so many single vehicle accidents, one has to ask, are drivers attentions being distracted by on board screens eg. Sat Navs or, dare I suggest, phones ?
Did you read the article ? It says he has been arrested for driving whilst under the influence of drugs
Did you read the timestamps? His comment was before the article update…
Thanks Anonymous
Did you read the article ?
it actuallysaid “has been arrested __on suspicion__ of driving a vehicle whilst unfit through drugs”
Linda,
Yes they did read the post … the arrest on suspicion of drug driving wasn’t known at 11:58, as that update was only made at 13:20, an hour after the post from JHVF.
On suspicion of driving whilst under the influence of drugs. Not saying he definitely was. Did you not read the article
smashed out of his face at 10 am – start early eh – probably ran out of gear and thought “better score some more, f*ck walking, I’ll get the car out”
loser.
I come here just to watch the fights in the comments. LoL
At one time, being drunk or drugged would have added greatly to your sentence. Now, it is used as an excuse for the accident and if any charge is made for being out of it, it will run concurrently, so no reason for the low life NOT too.
Imagine IF it had crush a child on their way to school. Do YOU think ‘it’ would care, only for it’s own worthless skin. Shame it is not paralysed for life, as likely we will keep ‘it’ and many clones it produces too.
