SUSPECTED GAS LEAK LEADS TO FRESHWATER FIRE CREW CALLOUT THIS AFTERNOON

Retained firefighters from Freshwater attended a suspected gas leak in Yarmouth this afternoon (Monday).

1 appliance was mobilised to the incident after Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to the possible presence of gas at a property in the town.

Firefighters entered the residential dwelling in the West Wight after the supply was isolated by technicians from SGN.

Those at the scene used a gas monitor to check for residual gas before venting the property.
