Medina House School, Stenbury Federation and The Bay C of E Primary School travelled to Portsmouth yesterday (Saturday) for Day Two of the 2016 Be Your Best J Rock, where Stenbury were awarded 1st place.
Stenbury Federation’s piece – which was made up of students from Wroxall, Godshill and Chillerton & Rookley Primary Schools – consistently looked incredible thanks to some very skilled and ingenious costumes and the fact the students took an active role in creating the piece was a true inspiration. The makeup and hair designs were also innovative and full of imagination and ensured their theme of vandalising and littering was crystal clear.
Stenbury have qualified straight through to the Southern J Rock™ Final in June.
Taking home 4th place were The Bay C of E Primary School who whisked the audience into a Spanish frenzy in their incredibly stylish piece entitled ‘Espirito Toro’. Fiesty and passionate dancers flourished under the bright lights and against the vivid backfrop of the spanish flag.
Medina House School brought their uplifting piece straight onto the Guildhall stage. Not only were Medina House voted for by their peers as the favourite performance of the day their colourful and bright piece brought joy to the entire audience.
The event, held at Portsmouth Guildhall, attracted a packed out audience and was supported by PQA, Association of Chief Police Officers Criminal Records Office, Hampshire County Council, Hampshire Drug and Alcohol Action Team, HC3S, Ian Wright Consulting, Hampshire Healthy Schools and Zeamu Music.
