Cowes-based WightFibre, the Island’s leading communications provider, have this week announced that they will be hosting an Official Charity Premier for the brand new Star Wars film ‘The Force Awakens’, raising vital funds for youth charity UKSA.
The announcement follows weeks of discussion and negotiation by the WightFibre team which will see 190 specially invited guests attend the Charity Premier, which is set to take place on Thursday 17th December at Cineworld in Newport.
John Irvine, CEO of WightFibre comments:
“This is real coup. Being able to secure this charity premier for the Island and to support such a great Island based charity as UKSA is really important to us.”
Prior to the screening, the event will start with a charity auction of six exclusive lots which includes a rare 35mm film cell, complete with certificate of authenticity from the original 1977 film ‘Star Wars IV; A New Hope’. The auction will be conducted by Rex Gully of HRD Fine Art Auctioneers.
