Southern Vectis has announced a revised timetable for its bus services across the Island for the forthcoming summer season.
Matt Kitchin, general manager of Southern Vectis has said:
“We have made a number of improvements to routes across our network, following feedback from our customers.
“These include the re-introduction of Sunday services and new and improved evening services during the summer. We have also introduced new timings to improve reliability on a number of routes.”
Summary of changes coming into effect from Sunday 20 March:
Route 2 – A new experimental evening service for the summer, following requests from customers.
Route 3 – Minor changes to timing.
Route 4 – A new Sunday morning journey to connect with ferries, and minor changes to timing in the evening.
Route 5 – Timing changes throughout the day to improve reliability.
Route 6 – Reintroduction of an hourly frequency during the day, Mondays to Saturdays, and an additional journey on Sundays during the summer timetable period. Journeys towards Newport will run via Newport High Street rather than White Pit Lane as a result of customer feedback.
Route 7 – Additional evening journeys, Monday to Saturday.
Route 8 – Additional journeys from end of May to beginning of September between Sandown and Newport, providing a 30 minute frequency during the day on Mondays to Saturdays. Minor retiming of journeys.
Route 9 – Minor changes to timing.
Route 12 – Re-introduction of Sunday daytime journeys for the duration of the summer timetable. The 5.40pm journey from Newport will extend through to Yarmouth.
Route 37 – Minor changes to timing.
Route 39 – Changes to the route and times following customer feedback.
The St Cross Business Express will been withdrawn following the end of the trial period with the last day of operation being Friday 1 April.
There are no changes routes 1, 22, 24, 32 and 38.
