Medics from the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) were scrambled to St Lawrence earlier this afternoon (Thursday) in response to a serious medical emergency.
Having made their way south, the yellow-liveried helicopter circled the skies above St Lawrence, before landing off Whitwell Road at around 12:30.
On the ground, they were joined by resources from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
Flying medics spent around 60-minutes on scene before lifting off and conveying the patient to the Major Trauma Unit at Southampton General Hospital.
It is unclear as to the exact nature of the medical incident.
