UPDATED: Emergency service personnel are attending a road traffic collision on a rural stretch of road in the South Wight tonight (Thursday).
A section of the A3055 Whitwell Road, Ventnor has been closed in both directions by Police.
Firefighters from Ventnor and Newport are currently on scene, where readers are reporting a vehicle has overturned onto its roof.
Motorists planning to travel between Ventnor and Whitwell should divert via Wroxall and Godshill until further notice.
The incident occurred at around 22:45.
UPDATE – Whitwell Road has now re-opened following the clearance of oil and fuel from the carriageway.
1 person has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital. Their injuries are not life-threatening.
