The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service responded to reports of a fire at Arreton Manor this morning (Wednesday).
2 appliances from Newport were mobilised to the grand property at just gone 10:00.
Although it was reported that there was a fire, the first crews on scene soon discovered that a fuse board was smoking.
The electrics have been isolated and safety work carried out.
