Popular Shanklin-based restaurant Thai Mukda has announced that it is to close indefinitely. The family who runs the eatery of High Street in the town said they had to make the ‘biggest’ decision, taking to Facebook to share the news with their loyal customer base on Friday (1st December). It was just last month that the Thai restaurant was handed a 1-star food hygiene following an inspection from Environmental Health Inspectors from the Isle of Wight Council. Following the inspection, those in charge of Thai Mukda said that they were to close over the winter months to allow them to implement the changes needed following the inspection. A spokesperson from Thai Mukda has said:
“We at Thai Mukda would like to give our greatest gratitude to everyone who has supported us all these years through our highs and lows, we are unsure of what the future has in store for us however for now we have made the biggest decision to close the restaurant indefinitely. “All these years, those who have supported us have become our friends and those who have worked with us have become our family, everyone has become precious to us and our experience with you all will be cherished in our memories.”
