22-year-old William Kulik faces a possible prison sentence after admitting stabbing a male in the torso in Oakfield, Ryde back in May.
Kulik, of Mayfield Road in Ryde, pleaded guilty to Section 18 wounding with intent / causing grievous bodily harm with intent when he appeared before the Isle of Wight Crown Court this week.
As first reported by Island Echo, Police – including Armed Officers – were called at 15:31 on Friday 27th May when a man in his 20s sustained a single stab wound to the torso at Oak Vale.
The topless and bleeding casualty was found at the bottom of nearby Slade Road having walked along a footpath. It can now be revealed that Island Echo reporters, who were quickly on scene, located the victim and guided in responding Police officers.
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was scrambled to the scene and soon landed at Oakfield Football Club, but the male, who was walking wounded, did not require an airlift to the mainland.
Kulik was arrested on Slade Road on the afternoon of Saturday 28th May and was soon charged in connection with the incident. He appeared before Magistrates on 29th May and the case was sent up to the Crown Court yesterday (Tuesday).
After admitting his guilt, William Kulik will now be back in court for sentencing in September. He has been given bail until that time.

Probably some woke sentence like a 3 week ‘it’s bad to stab’ course and a £50 fine with £200 to the court. Personally I would give him a 3 week sentence on max security with an open door policy for the murderers to show him how the really hard people deal with issues!

Prison? For something less than causing world war three? Surely some mistake. More likely a 2hr community order, suspended for fifty years and a fine of £2.56 (payable over 12months) from the ‘sentences’ we’ve seen reported these days.
For something as serious as this why is this violent filth not in prison until sentencing
Why alow a potential murderer out on bail???…this foul scumbag is a dangerous lowlife that a danger to the public..
Anyone that is prepared to thrust a knife into the flesh of another human clearly should never be allowed to walk amongst us, what is wrong with our courts???.
Let’s hope he gets a deserved prison sentence and not a SUSPENDED ONE!
