A pair of Ryde women who were banned from associating with one another have both been fined £40 after they were seen together in a Newport supermarket.
23-year-old Amber Banham-Gage, of George Street, and 25-year-old Amber Gagen, of nearby Green Street, appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court earlier this week (3rd January).
At the start of 2024, both Banham-Gage and Gagen were handed a Community Protection Notice (CPN) that stated they weren’t allowed to be in each others’ company. The CPN is in force until 21st January 2025.
Liz Miller, prosecuting, told the court that on 20th September 2024, Banham-Gage and Gagen were spotted with one another in Morrisons in Newport, despite the ban.
Ironically, the pair also turned up at court together for Friday’s hearing.
Defending the pair, Oscar Vincent said that both his clients were vulnerable individuals with a small friendship circle.
Magistrates fined each woman £40 and ordered they also pay £85 costs and an £16 surcharge fee.
