A seminar in Newport later this month will give Islanders the chance to question two people who play a key role in providing local dental services.
Health and social care watchdog Healthwatch Isle of Wight is organising the seminar at the Riverside Centre on Friday 22nd August following an increase in public feedback on the availability of dental services on the Island. It is a free event but those wishing to attend should book a place in advance.
Speaking at the seminar – and then answering questions from the floor – will be Natalie Jones, the NHS commissioner of dental services for the Island, and Dr Jeyanthi John, consultant in dental public health at Public Health England.
Healthwatch Isle of Wight spokeswoman Nikki Stewart said:
“The event is open to anybody and we would urge anyone with an interest in dentistry, or those who may be dissatisfied with the service to book a place and attend.
“A key aim of Healthwatch is to connect local people with those responsible for the health and social care services on which they rely. We hope Islanders will take the opportunity to discover more about local dental services as well as making their views known.”
The seminar is a booking only event and all questions must be submitted by Wednesday 13th August in order to be asked. All questions and booking requests should be emailed to [email protected] or given via the telephone on 01983 608608. You can also submit questions if you are unable to attend and answers to these will be published afterwards.
