Coastguards and firefighters are working to free a person stuck in the mud in the Norton area of the West Wight this morning (Saturday).
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service has mobilised crews from Newport and Freshwater to the scene near to Fort Victoria and Fort Albert on the Western coast of the Island, between the towns of Yarmouth and Totland.
Blue light colleagues from The Needles and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Teams have also been mobilised to the scene.
The call for help was raised at around 10:45.
