15 people are being given the chance to explore a private Isle of Wight woodland as part of Red Squirrel Awareness Week.
The Isle of Wight Red Squirrel Trust is offering places on a guided tour of Howes Wood, which is not normally open to the public.
The free tour will take place on Thursday 8th October from 14:00, with winners given the opportunity to explore the woodland with a guide and learn more about the Trust’s work to protect the Island’s native red squirrel population.
Those taking part may also be lucky enough to spot some of the woodland’s resident red squirrels.

Nicholas Gurney-Champion, Chairman of the Isle of Wight Red Squirrel Trust, has said:
“Howes Wood is a really special place, and we don’t often get the chance to share it.
“Red Squirrel Awareness Week felt like the perfect moment to open it up and let people see first-hand the habitat that our red squirrels depend on.
“We’re delighted to be able to welcome 15 lucky winners.”
Entry to the draw is free and remains open until midnight on Sunday 4th October.
The 15 winners will be selected at random at 11:00 on Monday 5th October and contacted by email with full details.
Entries can be submitted online at https://forms.gle/nGwT2TDprcahwXX29.
