Red Funnel has announced it has obtained the UK-wide industry standard and consumer ‘We’re Good to Go’ mark from Visit England.
The mark shows that Red Funnel is adhering to government and public health guidelines as it continues to welcome more customers on board ahead of tourism reopening on the Isle of Wight from tomorrow.
Red Funnel has demonstrated it complies with the guidance from Public Health England and has robust COVID-19 risk assessments and clear processes in place to keep customers safe.
Fran Collins, CEO of Red Funnel, said:
“We are proud to have obtained this industry mark that recognises the hard work tourism and hospitality businesses have done to adhere to government and public health guidelines. The health and safety of our passengers has always been our key priority and we have been carefully monitoring guidelines for safer travel throughout the pandemic.
“We are excited to be gradually welcoming back more passengers on our ferries, as we have recently resumed our Hi-Speed Red Jet service and increased our vehicle ferry crossings.”

All very good, but the travel operators don’t seem to have the authority to enforce the “mandatory” use of face masks. So, congratulations on the piece of paper saying “good to go” but people can ignore that requirement and there isn’t much that can be done about it.
i went to the dentist the other day and apart from when the dentistry was being performed, if I didn’t wear their face mask, I would not have been offered the service.
Shops should also be forced to have a ‘no mask no entry’ policy.
I Agree.
Oh that’s ok then. Just as long as staff and passengers are safe onboard for the crossings to and from the island. What happens when they disembark the boats and start moving around the island. Going into shops, visiting the supermarket. Let’s hope they don’t bring the virus with them which they most likely will and then we will be in a worst situation than we have been in the last 6 months. Too soon to allow people to go to places for a holiday. Why on earth do they need a holiday? Most people apart from key workers haven’t been to work in the last 3 months. Letting mainlanders come here while the virus is still so active is ridiculous. Watch and wait everyone to see what happens.
opinions matter – your opinion doesn’t matter though, as you are ranting like a deranged idiot.
So? This is a huge company with massive assets and access to all the resources they need. It should be taken as given that they are good to go. Where are the news stories about all the small mom and pop businesses on the island that have achieved this award. Working tirelessly with little money and time they have achieved this award without any recognition from the local press.
Too true, can my little b&b have free web advertising just because I have the “we’re good to go” mark as well??
