More than £16,000 has been raised to support Mountbatten Isle of Wight’s end-of-life care and bereavement services at the charity’s annual Summer Drinks event.
A total of £16,652.52 was raised during the special evening, held in the grounds of the historic Barton Manor in East Cowes.
Sponsored by property specialist BCM Wilson Hill, the event brought together supporters, local partners and members of the community for drinks and canapés provided by David Rogers and the All About Catering team.
A raffle was also held, with prizes donated by a number of Island businesses and supporters, including Arreton Manor, Slomo, The Garlic Farm and Liz Earle.
Money raised will help Mountbatten provide round-the-clock end-of-life care and bereavement support to Islanders and their families.
The evening also highlighted the contribution made by the Friends of Mountbatten, whose regular monthly donations help sustain the charity’s 24/7 community care services, inpatient unit and John Cheverton Centre in Newport.
Mountbatten Chief Executive Becky McGregor said:
