Residents in several postcodes in Gurnard are without electricity following an outage this evening (Friday).
SSEN says that the fault was first reported at 19:32, with power not expected to be restored until at least 22:25.
Local residents have claimed that the issue lies with a temporary generator being used to supply several areas of the village with electricity running out of diesel, with suggestions that an engineer cannot attend to refuel it for another 3 hours.
It’s understood that the local pub is one of the casualties with customers and trade impacted.
For further information about this power cut call the dedicated helpline by dialling 105.
Alternatively, you can send SSEN a message on Facebook or Twitter (@ssencommunity).
App: Did you know SSEN also have a mobile phone app where you can report, locate, track and subscribe to faults in your area?

Is it possible to get a reduction on your power bill when this happens?
I notice nobody has commented, is this because it is not news anymore? Happens somewhere on the Island every week!
Running out of diesel????
And this happens without extra demand being placed on the system – like 473 houses in Elmfield. Who were the stupid people that didn’t think this through!!
