Homes and businesses in the towns of East Cowes and Wootton have lost power this morning (Monday).
A main network fault has resulted in the loss of supply to some 84 postcode areas in the PO32 region.
It is hoped that power will be restored by 14:30 this afternoon.
UPDATE @ 16:50 – The power remains off for 3 postcode areas this evening – PO32 6AS, PO32 6AY, PO32 6AZ.
It is expected that the electricity supply will be restored to these properties by 20:00.

Proving my point, this is the third such cut in a week. Too many are growing dope, and the heat lamps etc as they hurry to dry out their ‘cash crop’ to gain some cash for the festive period is overloading the supply cables.
People you would never expect are growing in their garages, cellars, lofts, sheds etc, using far more power than otherwise they would.
Check out YOUR neighbour if they are ‘in’ the garage frequently if the lights are bright and left on, any odd smells, furtive when you speak to them as they exit the garage, the shed etc. Strange people arriving at odd hours picking up packages or bags, without knocking the door.
Tons of it growing here, adding to the car accidents, more mental damaged people filling our hospitals, and violence from rivals and those who don’t pay up etc.
NOT just someone else’s problem, all of ours. Tell the Police, they might ‘bother’ to investigate sometimes.
What a strange thing to say!
Do you know something that the local Constabulary does not, or, is it a case of diversion tactics – get the Police to raid East Cowes and Wootton so you can bring YOUR cash-crop to market?!?
I might not know all of the answers to everything, but I was not aware that the Isle of Wight was the cannabis growing county of the country…
