Police are warning Islanders in the East Wight to be vigilant following reports of suspicious behaviour.
Officers are investigating reports that a female has been visiting houses in the area and requesting money from homeowners on the pretense of losing her purse.
The woman is described as being aged around 70-years-old and is said to have light brown short hair and to be wearing glasses.
PC Manning of Ryde Police Station said:
“Please be vigilant to anyone matching this description. Please look out for any elderly neighbours who may be taken in by this person”.
