Reports of a disturbance on a residential close in East Cowes early this morning (Wednesday) led to a large-scale response by Police.
Around 6 units responded on blues and twos to Acorn Gardens, off Beatrice Avenue, after being alerted to a developing situation at 06:33.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary says that it had been reported threats were being made.
Officers left the cul-de-sac by 07:15.
No arrests have been made.

there seems to be a “Large-Scale Response” by emergency services to everything these days…
2 ambulances, 3 police vehicles and a fire engine, to a quad bike that fell over,..
6 ‘units’ on ‘blues and twos’ to someone shouting…
Whatever happend to sending the local plod along, to see what’s occuring, before despatching most of the Islands emergency services en-masse…???
But they wont send anyone out to finger print after a burglary or to sort out criminal damage when it’s clear who done it..
Would you like to be the same as Mainland Counties and wait over thirty minutes for an emergency vehicle due to the cut backs , ?
it often takes as long or longer for a response here on the Island, due to the same tory cut-backs..
we certainly don’t fare any better that the rest of the UK
& some of the reason for the delays is that they all seem to descend on one incident & not attend others…
It wasn’t long ago when an old person , who collapsed on the pavement, in Lake, had to wait many hours for an ambulance even thought there were multiple ambulances, police & fire, attending an overturned car in Ryde (where no-one was hurt) a few miles away….
Nothing to do with mass immigration then?…
Old farts cause soo much time really ???
That’s an interesting theory to put to the physicists & cosmologists,… “Old farts cause…time”
Over 50’s yea I get it old fart
I lost my packet again any one seen it
Can you actually make a sensible comment? No you can’t. Grow up.
Is there anything good about East Cowes except Waitrose and
the fact a Royal lived there over 120 years ago.
Its a sh*t hole
Ferries to the mainland are quite regular, please feel free to avail yourselves to them
