Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has launched an investigation after reports that a badger sett in Freshwater was filled in with concrete.
The incident was reported to Police on Saturday 31st January and is currently being investigated by local officers on the Isle of Wight.
Specialist officers from the Country Watch Rural Crime Task Force have reviewed the incident and are now supporting the ongoing enquiries.
Police are working alongside the Isle of Wight Badger Trust to understand the full circumstances and to determine whether any criminal offences have been committed.
