Police on the Isle of Wight are hunting for a male wanted in connection with an assault on a 20-year-old woman in Lake last Friday.
Shocking photos have been circulating on social media showing 20-year-old Yavana Dix covered in blood. It is alleged that she was hit around the head with a bottle, causing a head injury.
Yavana is on the road to recovery but only after having a number of stitches put in place.
The attack took place on Lake Hill, between Sandown and Shanklin, during the early hours of Friday morning (20th December).
The male wanted by Police for questioning is known to the victim. No arrests have yet been made.
“Enquiries are ongoing and we would ask anyone with information to contact police on 101, quoting 44190456012”.
UPDATE FRIDAY 27TH – Police have now issued an appeal for the whereabouts of Jamie Leigh Simpson, 29, from Sandown. He is wanted in connection with this assault.

What scum hope he gets what’s deserved. Also hope she gets better soon.
Let the public have his name and photo if they have one. It would speed up the arrest
He needs locking up for a very long time
We are far too lenient on violent offenders in this country. They need to be in no doubt that this will not be tolerated. No suspended sentences or community service. Lock them up for a significant period.
What a prick he is scum hitting a girl
Would you say the same or is it ok if it was a girl doing it to a guy???? People have a lot of stuff in there head sometimes they explode. Plus in this gender neutral world does it matter. Maybe he identifies as a girl so girl on girl does that make it better? A guy would have as much blood from same injury. Too free with words. Sad state of affairs.
Hope shes ok
What a big man!
Have sent a cash donation to help her over Christmas, should be a giving page?
Speedy recovery Yavana. p.s. she works as a career in old people’s home!
Everyone knows who it is. Complete scum bag, fresh out of prison. Should be locked up for good.
Name and shame, and pictures of him, to keep everyone else safe!!
My thoughts go to the woman. It’s an awful looking attack, especially at this time of year when we are meant to be kind to each other. Its despicable. I think shes strong to cope with this , and I’m hoping both physical and mental scaring will heal quickly, especially as she learns how theres support for her. I dont know her, but sincerely feel for her . From Sharon
NOT CONDEMMING THIS PERSONS ACTION ,BUT BEFORE WE MAKE STUPID THREATS ,OF WHICH WILL NEVER BE CARRIED OUT ,OR JUDGE THIS MAN ,LETS FIND OUT WHAT REALLY HAPPENED .THE POLICE KNOW WHO HE IS BUT HAVE NOT ARRESTED HIM THIS SAYS SOMETHING BEFORE CONDEMMING THE PERSON LETS FIND OUT THE WHOLE STORY
Put his picture on social media and he will give himself up
Where are all the real men? Why don’t her male relatives and friends ‘find’ the low life before handing ‘it’ to the Police. As sentencing is now so lenient, it is for ‘all’, so surely in such cases a suspended sentence would be worth it, and if enough help have a little chat then, very hard to prove who shouted the loudest? Just don’t understand it.
Takes some serious bottle to hurt an innocent woman….
I know Yavana she is one of the nicest people and the person who did this to her is an actually scum she didn’t deserve this
Why did they post a picture of it on here?
I see he has been caught. Not a minute too soon
There is a section of humanity who think violence is acceptable.
It most definitely is not. If found guilty he should pay all NHS costs in treating the victim
Any one with a jot of intelligence would realise that any attack on the head is likely to cause life changing injuries both physically and psychologically.
Even more so when a bottle is used. It could easily have cost her her eyesight or cut a major blood vessel.
If guilty he needs a significant custodial sentence.
