The National Police Air Service (NPAS) Helicopter from Bournemouth was tasked to assist officers on the ground in the search for a missing person in Ventnor during the early hours of this morning (Friday).
At around 01:00 the specialist helicopter flew across the Island to begin a search of open areas in and around Ventnor.
A number of officers on the ground also descended on the South Wight town, including a dog unit.
However, the search was swiftly called off when the missing person was found safe and well.
The NPAS helicopter was stood down and returned to base, before later being called out to a possible break-in at a school in Poole and then a crime search in Ringwood.
