Police are this week appealing for witnesses to come forward following an alleged assault at Sandown’s firework display at the beginning of the month.
Officers are investigating reports that a 47-year-old man and his partner, a 42-year-woman, were sat on the sea wall when a man – who was with two girls under 10-years-old – approached them and hit the man. The woman was later also hit in the incident.
The attack is said to have taken place over two weeks ago at around 20:00 on Saturday 7th November.
The suspect is described as around 50-years-old, 5ft 8″ tall and of stocky build.
