Police on the Isle of Wight are appealing for witnesses after 2 straw bales were set on fire at the National Trust’s car park at Compton Farm last night (Monday).
Officers believe last night’s fire was set at around 23:00 with the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service called out shortly afterwards to extinguish the fire, as previously reported by Island Echo.
Last night’s incident follows a similar fire at nearby Compton Bay car park on Sunday night between 21:00-21:45.
Officers investigating both incidents are keen to speak to anyone who might have information.

Better protect the phone masts, they’ll be burning them next. Then they will move onto finding witches with two bent sticks.
What are those witches doing with those bent sticks ?
Just hope the National Trust see sense and now remove all straw bales blocking car park entrances
Obviously I am missing something as I understood non essential travel, exercise within proximity of own home so why would the NT need to open their car parks when they have responsibly closed them, clearly Jill is totally immune to illness and common sense
Consideration was towards our fire services. Common sense tells me straw bales are for bedding down livestock, not using as barriers!
It appears to me now that we do all the work for our “officers of the law (or is it crown)” whilst paying them more and more in council tax well over inflation only to find that they are all making extra money selling information on tv. So although I know something about this NO WAY am I contributing anything else!!!
So you are withholding information from an active investigation, blatantly stating it where the Editor may have a legal duty to now forward your details on to the police for an obstruction of justice charge.
Maybe just call crime stoppers fool.

The lock down needs to be more severe parents are clearly letting there kids out and they are up to no good what’s next peoples homes care etc etc
Stop giving them ideas, the culprits are already twisted enough….
More hidden cameras on EVERY road is needed, cheap as chips, worth a fortune in data collection of this and druggies delivering, speeding cars etc.
