MISSING PERSON: Police are this evening appealing for information to help locate a missing Island man from his home in East Cowes.
Darren Jones, 39, suffers from depression and anxiety and has not been seen since lunchtime today (Monday) when he was witnessed by a neighbour to be walking out of the town at around 13:30.
Hampshire Constabulary are concerned for his welfare.
Mr Jones is described as:
– White
– 6ft 3″ tall
– Large build
– Dark Brown shoulder length hair worn in a ponytail
He is also described as having large ears. He was wearing a blue and red horizontal striped, short-sleeved t-shirt with dark denim jeans and black ‘Gola’ trainers. He was also wearing glasses.
UPDATE @ 22:30 – Island Echo understand Mr Jones was last seen near to the Racecourse Roundabout, Whippingham.
A potential witness has come forward this evening with what is believed to be a sighting of Darren Jones near to the Riverside Centre, Newport at around 14:30.
UPDATE TUESDAY @ 08:00 – Police are this morning continuing their search for Mr Jones, who has now not been seen for over 18 hours.
UPDATE TUESDAY @ 11:10 – Mr Jones has been safely located this morning and has been reunited with his family.
