Police and Immigration Enforcement officers have conducted a raid on a car wash in Ryde this morning (Wednesday).
At just before 09:30, around a dozen officers from the local High Harm Team and officers from the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU) descended on 5 Star Hand Car Wash on East Street, accompanied by Home Office immigration officials.
Workers on the forecourt of the former Bellevue Garage were told to stop what they were doing and were quickly detained, before being taken inside for questioning.
A nearby flat was also visited by officers and a sniffer dog was put into action.
It has been confirmed that today’s activity forms part of Hampshire Constabulary’s routine multi-agency approach to identifying offences and safeguarding potential victims of modern slavery.

Oh, a welfare visit, just to make sure they’re being properly looked after, have more in benefits than we can earn per week, and they have 4 star accommodation. Nice.

Discrimination at it’s finest, just because these are foreigners in Britain who are willing to work hard because us lazy British individuals will not do the job and well done to the police, they raid a business casting aspertions but struggle to solve the most basic crimes..

as they are after illegal immigrants, who will be paid in cash, won’t be paying taxes or contributing to any state pension and are using the services of this country for free, then all efforts to unearth these freeloaders are supported.
You also realise that a business that employs illegals, doesn’t pay employer national insurance, doesn’t pay employer taxes for that employee and is getting the services of someone for far less than the going rate – this gives the business an unfair advantage over any competitors. If I was in business and a competitor was employing illegals, I would have the place shut down – more custom for me

Every now and again, various places that employ foreign people (sorry if this term is wrong).Be it car washes, take away food services and even the hotel industry are all expected to show that they have the right to live & work here, it’s nothing personal I’m sure but there are a lot of unscrupulous people who will take advantage of someone desperate to stay in this country.
