A well-established local Estate Agent has taken on the new Online Agents – whose growth is threatening Island businesses.
Webb Jenkins, a dedicated Isle of Wight agent, have pledged to beat the Online Agents at their own game, offering price-matched services to Islanders. The forward-thinking Estate Agents are showing support for local trade and communities and calling on Island residents to do the same.
In their new guide, entitled ‘Myth-Busting: The Truth About Selling Your Home With Online Agents’, they unravel the myths surrounding Online Agents, discussing hidden fees, customer service and effects on the community.
While online businesses typically do not pay business rates on the Isle of Wight, local traders help to support their communities and many also raise funds for local charities – including Webb Jenkins, who have held charity golf events to raise money for local clubs, provided a help point for a food and clothes bank, and recently raised more than £4500 for charity Children With Cancer.
Steve Webb, Director at Webb Jenkins, said:
“We are proud to be part of the Island community and to offer a friendly, knowledgeable service to Islanders. We want the Isle of Wight to thrive – it’s a beautiful place to live, with an amazing community spirit.
“We hope that this guide will help Island residents make an informed choice when it comes to deciding between online services and established local businesses”.
